I FINALLY WENT TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!
I have been wanting to go for like ages. When Asa and I started dating, I went on holiday to Spain with my friend Liv who is literally the biggest Disney fan I know (she’s been to Disney World 10 times!). We facetimed Asa and Liv asked him if he lived close to Disney World. He answered ‘Erm I’m about an 8 hour drive away!’ Probably the first time I realised fully how big one state in America is compared to our counties in England.
Back to present day: It was because of my friend Liv that we visited this time around. She was coming over for a holiday with her entire family including her beautiful 8 month old daughter Elodie who I last saw a week before I left in March. I knew I was going to miss them so much and miss out on much of Elodie’s childhood moving to the states; when I knew they were coming over to Disney World I NEEDED to see them! Thankfully, plans fell in to place and we were able to join them for a day at Magic Kingdom on Liv’s birthday!

Disney isn’t particularly Asa’s cup of tea….. large crowds, crazy traffic, long queues and high prices are all a big no for him. Knowing how much it meant to be to me able to see Liv and family he got behind it and had a smile on his face for ‘most’ of the day! He also got to hear me scream pretty much all the way down Space Mountain! I think the 15 mile bike trip from the campsite each way sold it to him to be honest even if we were drenched before we’d even got into the park let alone gone on Splash Mountain…..

It was really sad to have to say another goodbye, I hate them! Especially knowing that I probably won’t be back in the UK until mid 2020 to see Liv, El and Elodie – she’ll probably be walking by then! At least with video calling, I should be able to keep in touch with everyone until I can see them again.
Asa and I stayed at Disney until it closed “If we’re paying to be there then we’re sure as shit going to be there until it closes” -A. Furman, 2019.
We watched the most spectacular fireworks display from the Magic Kingdom castle (see the many videos posted @thelongbus) and then slowly cycled the 15 miles back to our campsite. We slept well that night for sure!
